Math- This week we talked about coins. We will continue counting coins for part of next week and then learn more about telling time. Math stations reinforce topics we've learned all year long. We made a math bulletin board with number bonds of our choosing.
Literacy- These are just some of the things we talk about when we read in our literacy groups- strategies to read words, the plot/main idea, characters, setting, nouns, verbs, adjectives, compound words, fluency and reading with expression, homonyms, prior knowledge of and/or experiences with the subject, vocabulary, comprehension, and word study words found in our reading. Our reading time is chock full of learning!
Bible- April's Bible verse is Psalm 8:1-2- O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise." We will learn how the Holy Spirit is sent down after Jesus ascends into Heaven.
History- We will learn about Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence.
