Literacy-  In Word Study, students are building words using foam or magnetic letters, hunting for words with the same patterns in books and poems, writing their words on whiteboards, and playing Concentration. Students are making books during Writing Workshop. Ask your child what h/she is writing about.

Bible- February's Bible verse is Psalm 24:1-2, "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters." We will be learning about Jonah next week.

Math- We  compared two digit numbers by looking at the number in the tens place. Next week, we will begin adding and subtracting two digit numbers without regrouping, using the Base Ten Blocks to assist us.

History- We found Africa and Egypt on the maps and traced a map of ancient Egypt. As we study Ancient Egypt we will be focusing on the questions, What is civilization? How are rivers important to civilizations? How are the people of Ancient Egypt similar to/different than us.
