Literacy- A glimpse into our reading group time---small groups of students meet to read a book with their teacher. Groups not reading at that time are sitting quietly around the room with their book basket. Students reread books that the group has already read (this builds fluency), practice their sight words, read from their Poetry Folder, and look at "choice" books. Then the groups switch roles.

Math- We have learned the subtraction strategies of taking away, counting back, and counting on. Next week, we will learn the strategy of using number bonds/fact families to subtract. Practice subtracting items at home with your child.

Bible- November's Bible verse is, "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. " Psalm 100: 4-8.  Next week we will learn about Samuel.

ScienceWe have chosen our specialties for our turtle project! We will begin the planning process for our projects this week.
