LITERACY- We are using mentor texts before each session of Writing Workshop. We notice what the author and illustrator have done in the book. Right now we are trying to write one idea of the story on each page and make sure the illustration goes with the writing. We have books about pets, ninjas, our families, snowmen/women, legos, fiction and non-fiction!
MATH- We will be adding and subtracting to 20 by making ten. Practice math facts with your child at home. Kakooma is a fun way to practice--see who can find the answer the fastest!
BIBLE- February's Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." We will continue learning more about Elisha.
HISTORY- We will finish our study of Ancient Egypt. It is our hope that students will want to keep learning and reading more about it!
SCIENCE- We will begin working on our science fair project soon! More details to come.
*Please don't forget to send a snack for your child each day, in a separate bag than lunch. Many thanks!
