LITERACY- We are beginning the process of writing books in Writing Workshop. Throughout the year we will learn about planning the layout of a book, choosing topics, drawing pictures that tell more about our writing, editing, revising and publishing. Students are so excited about this.

MATH-  Students have been enjoying learning about time and money.  Ask your student about the game we play in stations called "Zap!"  Students have been introduced to the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.  Have your child point out different coins and tell you their value.  At the grocery store, ask your child to help you count change.

BIBLE- January's Bible verse is Psalm 24: 1-2- "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world and all who live in it, for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters." We will learn more about Elijah and then learn about Elisha. Ask your child what kind of King was ruling when Elijah lived.

HISTORY- Students are enjoying their study of Ancient Egypt. We have learned about King Tut. Next week, we will learn about hieroglyphics. Ask your child to tell you about the search and discovery of King Tut's tomb.

***Please remember to send a hat, gloves/mittens and winter coat daily with your child**
