LITERACY- We are beginning the process of writing books in Writing Workshop. Throughout the year we will learn about planning the layout of a book, choosing topics, drawing pictures that tell more about our writing, editing, revising and publishing. Students are so excited about this.
MATH- We continue to add and subtract numbers through 40 using the language of tens, ones and place value. We have been learning how to tell time. Students have been introduced to the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. We are beginning to solve word problems using money.
BIBLE- January's Bible verse is Psalm 24: 1-2- "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world and all who live in it, for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters." We will learn about Elijah.
HISTORY- Students are enjoying their study of Ancient Egypt. We are will continue focusing on pharaohs, mummies and pyramids in the coming week.

February 13-16- Winter break- If more than 2 days have been missed due to snow, we will have school on Feb. 13
