Math-  Adding and subtracting two digit numbers with and without regrouping is what we have worked on this week, and we will continue to work on for the rest of the year. Regrouping is a focus in second grade, so this is an introduction. We use Base Ten Blocks to solve these problems.

Literacy- In preparation for Grandparents Day, during the next two weeks, some of our writing will be about our grandparents and things we enjoy doing with them. We will be writing across the curriculum, about things we are learning in history.

Bible- May's Bible verse is Nehemiah 9:5 Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting."Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise". Next week we will continue learning about Paul.

History- Students are so excited about Lewis and Clark and our upcoming field trip. Here are some questions to ask. How did Thomas Jefferson double the size of our country? How do we know about Lewis and Clark's expedition? Who are Seaman and Pomp? How many were on the expedition? How did Sacajewa help them?
