Please be sure to read the books they have written. The students are
very proud of their work!
Just a couple of---Things to do this Summer
The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library has great summer programs for kids.
Check their website in about ten days, www.jmrl.org, and look under Children's
Programs. These often include a summer reading program with weekly incentives,
weekly events at each branch -including jewelry making, magic shows, musical
guests, wildlife programs, etc. Of course, all of these events are free!
Monticello offers family friendly tours beginning on June 7. They include hands-on
opportunities. Tours are given on the hour between 10 am and 3 pm.
Upcoming Events
Memorial Day- Monday, May 26- No school
First Grade end- of- year- picnic- Tuesday, May 27th- 11-2, at Greenleaf Park
Last Chapel of the year- Wed. May 29, please join us!
Closing Ceremony- Friday, May 30- 8:30am. Students should be dropped off
in the classroom by 8:10. They should wear their Sunday best. Parents need to
come back to the classroom to pick up your child immediately following the
ceremony.
