Bible- We will read some accounts of Jesus' healing.
History- We will begin a short unit about Early Explorers and Settlers, before delving into the colonial period. This coming week we will learn about The Lost Colony, Jamestown, Pocahontas and America's first slaves.
Literacy- We'll read many poems in March, and try writing some of our own. We will also begin an author study of Jan Brett. She has a nice website, see link below. Please practice word study with your child each day. Have him/her tell you the sorting rules.
Math- We will continue working on place value, and adding and subtracting larger numbers. Help your child memorize double facts through 10 (2+2, 3+3, 4+4.....10+10) and facts for 1-10.
We go outside for recess even when it is very cold. Please be sure to send a hat and mittens for your child.

trip to Ashlawn- Tuesday, March 18th-Any parents are welcome to meet us at Ashlawn from 9am until noon. Those who signed up as chaperones may ride the bus with us. Please let me know by Wed. March 19th if you will be joining us.
Poetry Festival- Friday, March 28th, 1:30 pm, in the gym. All are welcome!
spring break- March 29-April 6
Bible Dress-up Day- Wed. April 9th Detailed information will go home later this month, but be thinking about which person from the Old Testament that we've learned about, your child would like to dress up as. He/she will need to have 2 clues about the person to share. Students will present during chapel.
Lower School Talent Show- April 16, 1:30, see note in Friday folder about auditions, sign up sheets must be returned by March 14th
