Math- We are adding and subtracting two digit numbers with regrouping, using the Base Ten Blocks to assist us. We work on strengthening our critical thinking skills, and perseverance, with "math brain challenges." 

Literacy-  Students wrote about Bible Dress-up Day. They are writing books about ocean animals during Literacy time. We are learning many different ways to begin a story--with information about a character, dialogue, sound effects, or with a question.  We have also discussed ways to end our stories. 

Bible- March's Bible verse is Matthew 28:5-6- "And the angel said to the women. 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he is risen, just as he said.'" We talked about things we know about Easter and questions we have about it. We will spend the month of March answering those questions, learning about the days leading up to Jesus' death on the cross, and Easter.

History-  Our trip to James Monroe's home will be the beginning of our unit on Colonies. We are looking forward to an educational trip.

If you have not signed up for Parent-Teacher Conferences, please do so now. It is time to sign up for spring conferences taking place 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11. Students Pre-K - Grade 6 will be dismissed early Thursday (we dismiss at 12). There will be no school for the students on Friday, March 11 . You can sign up by clicking here and finding your child's teacher in the list provided.
