May 9-16
Bible- We will learn about Saul.
Science- We will begin a unit on time. Students will learn how to recognize time on the hour, and half hour. They will be introduced to counting by 5's around the clock.
Literacy- Our last read aloud novel is Charlotte's Web. We will learn about characters, setting, and plot as we dig into this wonderful and classic book. We are learning about prefixes.
Math- We are in a short unit about graphs--picture graphs, bar graphs, and tally charts. Students will have opportunities to question their classmates and create graphs.

Rising 1st and 2nd grade Brown Bag Lunch-Thursday, May 15, 12:00pm. Please try to attend, especially if you were not able to make it to Preview Night!
Friday, May 16th- Field Day, 8:45-12:00. First grade wears orange (wear as much orange as possible!)
Memorial Day- Monday, May 26, no school
First Grade end- of- year- picnic- Tuesday, May 27th, 11-2, at Greenleaf Park, all are welcome and needed! We cannot have this event without enough volunteers.
Last day of classes- Thursday, May 29
Closing Ceremony- Friday, May 30- 8:30am
