May 5-9

Bible- We will learn about the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Science- We will finish our unit on length and begin a short unit about graphs.

History- We have enjoyed learning about Lewis and Clark, the Louisiana Purchase, and Sacagewa. This unit culminates in our trip to the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center at Darden Towe Park on Tuesday. 

Literacy- Our last read aloud novel is Charlotte's Web. We will learn about characters, setting, and plot as we dig into this wonderful and classic book. We are learning about prefixes.

Math- We are learning to subtract one and two digit numbers, with and without regrouping. We use place value sticks and mats. 

 Upcoming Events

5th and 6th grade production of Peter Pan-Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3- 7:00 pm,  at the Upper School Performing Arts Center. 

Trip to Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center- Tuesday, May 6, 9:15-12:00. Chaperones please be here by 9:05.

Upcoming relaxed dress days- 5/9 and 5/23

Rising 1st and 2nd grade Brown Bag Lunch-Thursday, May 15, 12:00pm.  Please try to attend, especially if you were not able to make it to Preview Nigh!

Friday, May 16th- Field Day, 8:45-12:00

Memorial Day- Monday, May 26, no school

First Grade end- of- year- picnic- Tuesday, May 27th, 11-2, at Greenleaf Park, all are welcome and all are needed!

Last day of classes- Thursday, May 29

Closing Ceremony- Friday, May 30- 8:30am
