Ms. Wilke's Class

Sunday, March 2, 2014

Bible- We will leave the Old Testament for a number of weeks, in preparation for learning about the Easter story. Until mid-March, we will learn about some of Jesus' healing, and teaching through parables.

Science- We will be learn about the octopus and finish our ocean life unit. Students are so interested in the amazing creatures God has put in the sea. Encourage them to read about more animals, as we only touched on a few!

Literacy-  We'll read many poems in March, and try writing some of our own. We will also begin an author study of Jan Brett. She has a nice website, see link below. Please practice word study with your child each day. Have him/her tell you the sorting rules.

Math- We will continue working on place value, and adding and subtracting larger numbers. Help your child memorize double facts through 10 (2+2, 3+3, 4+4.....10+10) and facts for 1-10.

We go outside for recess even when it is very cold. Please be sure to send a hat and mittens for your child.
