Bible- We will finish learning about Elisha and then begin a study of Daniel. His story will help us see that God is always with us, watching and protecting us.

History- We will learn about life in an Indian village and compare it to what we've learned about life in a Mexican town. We will compare both, to life in Mexico City. We have learned so much about Mexico, and look forward to sharing what we've learned at our International Assembly on Jan. 31st (see Upcoming Events).

Literacy- We are finishing our read-aloud, Little House in the Big Woods, which we have all enjoyed. In grammar, we will focus on contractions for the rest of January. Writing Workshop continues to be a favorite part of our days.

Math- We have been learning about numbers 11 through 20, focusing on place value. That will move us into addition and subtraction through 20. Math work stations reinforce our place value work, and give us practice with our number bonds, patterning, counting, and other math skills.

We go outside for recess even when it is very cold. Please be sure to send a hat and mittens for your child. Please don't send gloves unless your child can put them on by him/herself. Thanks!
